Some of the services we offer at Cronauer & Angelakis Orthodontics include traditional braces, accelerated braces, ceramic braces, removable braces, orthopedic appliances and retainers. However – the dental care that you personally need, will depend on your individual requirements, and will be suggested and clearly and gently explained to you when you come to visit us.

Here are brief descriptions of the services mentioned above:

  • Traditional braces: These are used to align crooked or crowded teeth, misaligned bites and jaw problems. They are made of superior grade stainless steel and they straighten teeth by using a bracket, wires and rubber bands.
  • Accelerated braces: Accelerated orthodontics accomplishes the same goals as traditional braces – but in much less time. These braces can be ceramic, lingual or metal, but the difference is that the straightening goal can be achieved in between 3-8 months as opposed to up to 3 years.
  • Ceramic braces: Ceramic or clear braces are just as effective as other braces but are made from a translucent material. They blend in with your teeth and are barely noticeable as the little rubber bands that hold the arch wire on to the ceramic brackets, are usually white or clear.
  • Removable braces: Removable braces are generally used when someone has mild teeth alignment problems. The process used for these braces differs from that of traditional metal braces in that, instead of visible brackets and archwires being used, a series of removable aligners are used.
  • Orthopedic appliances: This therapy addresses skeletal imbalances of the face and jaws and is a very specialized field offered by few orthodontists. It deals with issues such as underdeveloped lower jaws and overbite, ‘buckled teeth’ and expanding upper teeth. One of the appliances we might use, is a palatal expander.
  • Retainers: An orthodontic retainer is used to keep your teeth in their new positions when your braces are removed. When you have worn braces, the ligaments in your mouth have been stretched and moved. A retainer is then worn to keep your teeth nice and straight afterwards.

Whatever your dental problem might be, though – rest assured that we will give you our undivided attention and care, coupled with years of experience and highly qualified expertise.
