If you feel that your teeth are not as straight as you would like them to be, but you also know that you don’t have serious dental issues, you might be quite right thinking that removable braces could work for you!
Your orthodontist at Cronauer&Angelakis Orthodontics will suggest removable braces to you if you have mild to moderate orthodontic dental problems. Removable braces work differently to metal braces in that there are no wires or rubber bands involved, and that regular adjustments by your doctor are not necessary. Rather – they move your teeth through patient-specifically-made sets of clear removable aligners through a process where you wear one set for a period of time, and then swap it for the next one.
Removable teeth aligners have a number of benefits for our patients that are not keen on for instance visible metal braces:
They are clear and for the most part other people won’t notice them. Because they don’t have wires, they are more convenient and their edges are smooth, making irritation of your gums and cheeks a non-issue. Although you should wear them as often as possible, they have the benefit that they can (and should) be taken out when you eat or drink, or brush and floss your teeth. This has its own benefit, because you will be able to reach your teeth more easily when brushing or flossing them, making you less prone to land up with tooth decay.
Here are 2 examples of removable braces that your doctor here might suggest to help you on your way to that lovely smile that you desire and deserve:
Our doctors obtained extra qualifications to be able to do examinations for and fitments of Invisalign, so when we suggest this product, you can rest assured that you will be in good hands. Invisalign’s removable braces process is a process where a patient receives a series of invisible, removable, comfortable aligners, made according to 3D computer imaging technology. Invisalign aligners are designed to move your teeth to the desired final position slowly and comfortably.
ClearAligners are also designed for patient-specific needs, but are speed aligners. They make teeth move so fast that the average treatment time is usually fewer than 6 months, with patients having to visit their doctor every two weeks due to the speed in which their teeth move! ClearAligners are comfortable and convenient as they don’t have to be worn 24 hrs a day – they can for instance be left at home for work and special occasions. Some of their benefits are that they are perfect aligners to correct both upper and lower front teeth.
ClearAligners is a practice product, invented by our own Dr. Cronauer – so you could not be in better hands when we agree to use them to solve your orthodontic problems!
