Meet Our Orthodontists!
You have met our doctors in the office, but how much do you know about them? Here are a few bits of information about each of our doctors. They are pretty amazing, and worth getting to know!!
Dr. Edward Cronauer
A board-certified orthodontist, Dr. Cronauer is a 1980 graduate from the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, and in 1982 he earned his Certificate in Proficiency in Orthodontics from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
Not only has he contributed to the field of orthodontics by providing the highest level of care possible for his patients, he also invented and patented the ClearAligner brand of accelerated braces.
As a member of the Memorial Dental Study Club, he is a firm believer in continuing education to better serve his patients with the latest treatment and technologies. The club joins together top dental experts from a variety of disciplines who regularly meet to share information about the newest developments in patient care, as well as the skills needed to be successful in the industry both today and in the future. In order to join, members must pledge to dedicate themselves to excellence in their respective practices.
Dr. Cronauer and his wife, optometrist Dr. Julie Cronauer, have been married for over 30 years and have a son and a daughter.
Dr. Rosie Angelakis
A 1988 Bachelor of Science degree holder from the University of Miami and a 1992 graduate of the Tufts School of Dental Medicine with a Doctor of Medical Dentistry (DMD), Dr. Angelakis finished her schooling with an additional two years at the New York University School of Dental Medicine with a specialty in orthodontics.
With over 20 years of professional experience, Dr. Angelakis has been an invaluable member to the Cronauer & Angelakis team. She is a past president and active member of the South Broward Dental Society which keeps her abreast of the latest treatments and technologies available to her South Coast area patients.
When she’s not busy using her skills and expertise to improve her patients’ smiles, Dr. Angelakis enjoys Pilates, gardening, relaxing at the beach and spending time with her sons, Paco and Giorgo.
Dr. David Carmona
Upon graduation from the University of Costa Rica Dental School in 2003, Dr. Carmona obtained his orthodontic residency from the Intercontinental University in Mexico City. He returned to Costa Rica and established his own private practice while also working at the University of Costa Rica as an orthodontics professor. He left Costa Rica for Florida in 2011, and in 2013 he earned a Master of Science and Orthodontic Certificate from Nova Southeastern University.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Carmona uses his wealth of education and experience to bring the highest quality orthodontic care to our patients. He and his wife, Dr. Francis Carmona (a pediatric dentist), have one son named Daniel. In his free time, he can be found enjoying family time, traveling, or watching and playing soccer.
